I consider myself to be an IT "geek" and technology enthusiast with a passion for everything technology related. My current passion lies in the area of virtualization as it is such an interesting and still emerging sector within the IT industry. The goal is to obtain the VCP (VMWare certified professional) certification with hopes to one day work for a company such as Cisco in the virtualization sector.

Intro to Networking (CCNA 3/4) Lab Assistant

  • Lead a 3 hour weekly lab and a 1.5 hour weekly tutorial class as part of the CCNA course
  • Responsible for grading lab activities completed on real Cisco equipment, homework and exams

  • Oversaw the development of an Android application to control the companies AccuFACE devices in 22+ countries around the world to support company growth in the mobile segment
  • Collaborated with several employees to redesign the companies network infrastructure to support the Enterprise Resource Planning and Security Systems project

IT Simulator Support

Bruce Power, Tiverton, Ontario
  • Collaborated with engineers and programmers to develop a new fuel handling simulator which assists nuclear operators training to work with the fuel handling systems in the nuclear reactor
  • Oversaw the development of the virtual control panels for the simulator completing this portion of the project in 5 months (scheduled to take 16 months) at a cost savings of $150,000
2009 - 2010

IT Support Technician

  • Communicated with employees across North America and Europe on a daily basis providing technical support contributing to company growth and improved operational efficiency
  • Produced network and end-user documentation to support and improve performance of employees providing technical support
  • Collaborated with system administrators to develop a computer inventory tracking and reporting system to improve company compliance with licensing and audit operations
  • Developed, tested and applied a remote assistance software used on embedded computer systems to allow employees to troubleshoot the devices which streamlined operations

  • Cisco NetRiders Competition – Placed 3rd in Ontario and 20th in North America out of 900+ students
  • Tactical Network and Security Operations – Collaborated with 7 students to plan and execute an 8 hour competition where students are tested on aspects of IT such as networking, security and system administration
  • Sector 2013 – Competed at the conference in the capture the flag security competition
  • Ontario Global Edge (OGE) – Presented to faculty, Mayor of Oshawa, Chinese Consulate and local high school students regarding the OGE program and international experience abroad
  • UOIT Open House –  Introduced prospective students to the University and program

6) Personal Projects

Amazon Associates

Between 2008 – 2010 I participated in the Amazon Associates program.  I researched, developed and ran several websites which promoted products through the Amazon affiliate program.  Growing and search engine optimizing the sites, I gained top rankings in Google for many product related keywords which collectively brought in hundreds of visitors per day to the websites which resulted in over $100,000 in sales in a 15 month period.
